Is this you?
You're in the right place if…
- You've been "running through" a nagging pain that's getting harder to ignore
- Your shoulder aches every overhead lift but you keep pushing through anyway
- You rolled your ankle and you're scared to restart training without real guidance
- You were cleared from surgery but the generic return-to-sport protocol doesn't feel specific enough
- You want to come back stronger than before — not just pain-free, but genuinely better
What it is
How we approach Sports Rehabilitation
Whether you’re a competitive runner, a weekend warrior, or a high school athlete, injuries have a way of reshaping your identity. Sports Rehabilitation at Arogya Physical Therapy isn’t just about getting you back to “pain-free” — it’s about getting you back to performing.
Every athlete’s body tells a different story. Abhisha Patel, PT, DPT, MS, combines a thorough movement screen with a genuine conversation about your sport, your training load, and your goals. That context shapes everything: how we treat, how fast we progress, and what “ready to return” actually means for you — not for the average patient.
Treatment blends manual therapy to restore tissue mobility, targeted strengthening to address the underlying weaknesses that contributed to injury, and neuromuscular re-training to rebuild the protective reflexes your sport demands. We don’t stop at the injury site — we look at the full kinetic chain.
Available in-clinic at our Leander location or via telehealth for follow-up visits and home program guidance, serving athletes across the North Austin Corridor.

Common questions
FAQ
How long will my recovery take?
Recovery timelines vary by injury type, sport, and individual. During your initial evaluation, Abhisha will give you a realistic, honest timeline based on your specific presentation and goals — not a generic estimate.
Do I need a physician referral?
Texas is a direct-access state, so you can see a physical therapist without a referral. If you have surgical clearance paperwork or imaging reports, bring them — they provide helpful context but aren't required.
Is telehealth appropriate for sports rehab?
Telehealth works well for follow-up visits, home program review, and movement coaching. The initial evaluation and hands-on treatment sessions are best done in-clinic at our Leander location.
Can you work alongside my sports medicine physician or orthopedic surgeon?
Absolutely — collaborative care produces the best outcomes. With your consent, Abhisha can communicate directly with your referring physician or surgeon throughout your recovery.
